I’m a big believer in goal setting and visioning. I like spending time to do this each month because I feel like it give me a direction and allows me to be more productive because I have an end goal in mind.Whether the actual goal is met is less important than the work you put in to reach it. Check out my goals for November below.
Post Daily to the Blog
This is my biggest goal this month and I have already been preparing to make it happen. Moving to an everyday schedule will allow me to quickly build content and hopefully grow the blog. I learn best by doing so this will be a great opportunity to brush up my photography and writing skills.
Grow Instagram Following to 700
It is no secret that I love Instagram. I think it is a great way to share more about myself and I consider it an extension of the blog. Anyone who knows anything about the blogging world can tell you that IG is great platform to promote and grow your blog.

Increase the Photography Quality on NNTBD
I first became interested in photography when I was living abroad in China in 2012. I steadily improved my skills over the past four years especially once I decided to start this blog. Now I consider photography a major passion and I want to continue to improve my skills. This goal is somewhat problematic because it is hard to measure “quality photography” as it is subjective. To determine my success in this area I am only considering technical skill, specifically how many photos taken using manual settings make it onto the blog.
Have Two Massages
Sometimes I have a hard time treating myself well. Massages seem like such a treat to me, it is hard to give myself permission to spend money in this way. I have an old injury that requires extra love in the cold months; allowing myself to have two massages will give me my muscles the attention they need to stay strong and help me continue to recover. After all, releasing tension is important to building strength.
Learn Two New Hooping Tricks
Hula hooping is a new hobby of mine. It is a fun way to get my body moving and I enjoy the challenge of learning new tricks. This month I want to learn two; transitioning the hoop from my legs to my waist and chest rolls. Wish me luck!
Drink a Quart of Tea Daily
I don’t know if I have mentioned this before but I’m a bit of an herbalist. Herbs contain amazing health benefits and those nutrients are easily absorbed by drinking a cup of tea! What could be more enjoyable? However, you need to drink a lot of tea to get the most out of herbs. So I am going to make it a habit to drink 32 oz every day. If you want to try one of my favorite herbal teas you can check out this recipe.
Talk to My Plants Every Day.
I’m kind of a #crazyplantlady. I have a bedroom filled with 8 plants but I feel like I could easily double that. Someday I will have the jungle room of my dreams. In the meantime I like to treat my plants extra well. I think it makes them happier when I talk to them so I want to try to do it everyday. I’m just hoping my roommates don’t think I’m actually crazy if they overhear me.
Read One Book Every Week.
I love reading but sometimes I struggle to prioritize this over other activities. I have so many unread books just waiting to be picked up. This month I plan to read at least four of them.
There you have it folks. My goals for November. Please offer me any tips you have on goal setting or let me know one of your goals for the month.
P.S. Come back at the end of the month to see how I did on these goals.
Love and light,
