I first discovered golden milk during an ayurvedic consultation and my world has never been the same. Golden milk is a traditional drink filled with yummy (and health balancing spices). It had fallen out of my personal routine for a while but I am so glad to have it back. It feels like a special treat and is an easy way to do something good for my body everyday. Below is my personal recipe, it may seem heavy on the turmeric but I promise it is utterly delightful.
12 ounces almond milk (or milk of choice)
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons turmeric
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
dash black pepper
2 whole cloves
Heat the ingredients together in a small saucepan on the stovetop on low until the spices have dissolved and the milk is warm but Not boiling.
Stir occasionally to help blend the spices together.
Pour into your favorite mug.
Enjoy while warm.
Use a milk frother to blend (optional).
Golden mink is a calming and delicious addition to my evening routine, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
