Where I have been for the past few months.
If you have been an NNTBD reader for a while then you noticed I took a break from posting content and I want to let you know why.
In January I began to feel overwhelmed by the blog. I couldn’t filter through all the chatter and conflicting information about blogging, I was working on too many things at once, and I lacked a system to complete tasks effectively. This combination meant the content I created didn’t meet my high standards and I didn’t have spare time to dedicate to improving it. On a more emotional level I felt a little lost and disconnected from my purpose.
I decided to take a step back and reassess why I write this blog and what my goals are regarding the blog. Through that process I realized that I love helping others find joy in life. Nothing Needs To Be Done is meant to spread love and inspiration to my readers and brighten their day. When it comes down to it, I want to always be adding value to my readers’ lives.
Having this purpose of adding value in mind, I used my time away from posting to improve every aspect of Nothing Needs To Be Done. First, I reevaluated my content. Then I developed a plan for creating content that will be informative and inspiring. I also improved the visual elements of the blog. I learned new photography skills and spent time practicing. And, as you probably noticed, I redesigned the blog.
Another reason I chose to take time off was related to a family emergency. I won’t go into detail, but I will say it was emotionally draining and I felt incredibly unmotivated for a while.
Big changes coming to my life and to the content of Nothing Needs To Be Done.
I am so excited to announce that I am going on an extended trip to Asia with my boyfriend, Tommy. We are visiting multiple countries in Asia. We start our adventure April 18th when we head to Tokyo and I can hardly wait! Tommy and I will be traveling for at least three months and during that time the majority of my posts will have a travel-related feel. Even if you aren’t interested in travel you should stick around because I will still be sharing wellness, yoga, and self love posts.
For those of you who are curious, we also have plans to visit Korea, China, Thailand, and Vietnam.
I am delighted to have a platform to offer more specialized content and connect more with readers. The newsletter will be sent twice monthly. One email will share interviews from some of my favorite bloggers. This will offer my lovely readers a chance to find new inspiration. The other will be an email summarizing my month. It will share the things that inspired me, and offer more insight into my personal journey. This content will be exclusive to email subscribers and will always be accessible for those subscribers through archives. In the future, subscribers to the newsletter will receive special offers and they will hear announcements before anyone else. Do both of us a favor and sign up here!
Thank you so much for spending your valuable time in my little corner of the internet and especially for catching up with me in this post. I’d love to hear any recommendations or travel tips for Asia in the comments. And feel free to ask any questions you might have.
